WASHINGTON, D.C., October 9 – Following tonight’s presidential debate, Alliance for Justice Action Campaign President Nan Aron issued the following statement:
“Tonight, the presidential candidates made it clear just how critical this election is for our Supreme Court. The next president could appoint up to four justices who will serve lifetime tenures. Hillary Clinton said she would appoint justices to the Court who understand how the world really works, and who do not favor the wealthy and powerful over everyday Americans. Donald Trump, meanwhile, reminded us that he has put forward the names of 20 potential nominees. We have looked at the records of those individuals, and it’s clear: they would turn back the clock on our cherished rights and liberties, and would inflict pain, harm and despair on millions of our fellow Americans.”
AFJAC has prepared research on the records of individuals Donald Trump has named as possible Supreme Court nominees. That information can be found online here.
