Steven Menashi is nominated for a lifetime seat on the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals. Until recently, Menashi was Betsy DeVos’s right hand man at the Department of Education as she attacked protections for access to public education, survivors of sexual assault, LGBTQ students, and more. Now, working in the White House counsel’s office he’s worked closely with Stephen Miller on advancing some our nation’s most draconian immigration policies and has refused to clarify his potential role in the cover-up of Trump’s Ukraine call and activities at the heart of the House impeachment inquiry.
With your help, we can defeat Menashi. Because supporters like you spoke out, Senator Susan Collins (R-ME) will be opposing Menashi. The pressure is working but you can help us keep it up!
Here’s what you can do:
- Call your senators now and tell them to vote NO on Menashi by entering your email and phone number in the form above.
- Tweet at your senators and tell them to #StopMenashi.
- Spread the word on social media using #StopMenashi.
Menashi’s record shows a clear hostility to women, LGBTQ people, communities of color, and sexual assault survivors. In addition to attacking public education protections, he compared the collection of race data in college admissions to Nuremberg Laws, labeled LGBTQ equality a “deviation from political decency,” and supported challenges to the Affordable Care Act’s contraceptive mandate.
With your help, we can stop Menashi.

My name is [name], and I’m a constituent from [city] calling to oppose Steven Menashi, Donald Trump’s nominee to the Second Circuit Court of Appeals. Menashi has a record of hostility to women, LGBTQ people, communities of color, and sexual assault survivors, and more. He has attacked protections for access to public education, survivors of sexual assault, LGBTQ students. He has played a role in some of the most troubling policies coming out of the White House. He should not be given a lifetime seat on the bench. I urge Senator [X] to oppose Menashi’s nomination. Thank you.
