CREDO Taps AFJAC for August Grant

Alliance for Justice Action Campaign is excited to announce that it has been chosen by CREDO Mobile to be an August grant recipient. This selection recognizes AFJAC’s work and leadership as a progressive nonprofit, and we are honored to have this opportunity. Each month, CREDO Mobile dedicates a portion of their revenue—roughly $150,000—and holds an online vote to divide the funds among three progressive nonprofits. The amount that AFJAC receives will depend on how many votes the organization gets.

“The American people have a right to know what Brett Kavanaugh participated in during his years with the Bush Administration, especially with regard to human rights abuses perpetrated as part of the so-called ‘war on terror,’ and that is a right that knows no deadline. If it takes several weeks or months to produce the documents, so be it,” said Nan Aron, President of Alliance for Justice Action Campaign. “As for the midterms, we’re confident that people would rather support a Senator who insisted on seeing Kavanaugh’s full record than one who did not.”

OP-ED: GOP must allow vote on Supreme Court justices

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.) signaled an unfolding attack on the Constitution when he said, “There is certainly long historical precedent for a Supreme Court with fewer justices.” He hinted that if Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton wins, he would block any nominee to succeed the late Justice Antonin Scalia. Sen. John McCain(R-Ariz.) suggested a block of all justices she might name. GOP lawmakers are threatening to extend the scorched-earth campaign tactics of 2016 after Inauguration Day.
